The Story Of Flight Series
How It Started
Flight Series Eyewear started with frustration. On deployment in Africa, I bought a pair of sunglasses that didn’t even last a month. They scratched too easily, the tint was way too dark, and they ended up being useless. That moment stuck with me.
Pilots and aircrew don’t need fragile sunglasses that fall apart. We need gear that’s tough, clear, and built for real use. Later, when I went to flight school, the need for reliable eyewear became even more obvious when I realized polarized sunglasses are not compatible with many types of aircraft digital screens. If no one else was going to build sunglasses made for us, then I would.
That’s how Flight Series Eyewear was born.
Our Mission
Our mission is simple:
To provide reliable, consistent, and durable eyewear for pilots, aircrew, and tactical professionals — and for anyone who needs sunglasses that can handle more than everyday life.
This isn’t about fashion or chasing trends. It’s about making sunglasses that do their job, hold up under pressure, and don’t quit when you need them most.
Why We Built Them
Most sunglasses are built for looks first and performance second. We flipped that around. Every feature was designed with the user in mind and tested against the real-world needs of aviation and tactical environments.
Here’s what makes Flight Series different:
- Ballistic-Rated Protection (ANSI Z87.1) – Serious impact resistance.
- Pilot Polarized - Uniquely designed lenses that maintain their polarization without compromising screen visibility and readability.
- Laser Defense Technology – Shields against blue, green, and red laser threats.
- Scratch & Smudge Resistance – Coatings that keep lenses clear and easy to maintain.
- Durable Frames – Lightweight, anti-slip, and built for all-day comfort.
- Mission-First Design – More gear than accessory.
They’re tough enough for the field, but sharp enough to wear anywhere.
Who They’re For
We originally designed these sunglasses for aviators but quickly realized they serve a much bigger need. They’re built for anyone who demands more from their gear. They are made for the folks we call the Everyday Professionals.
They’re for:
- Pilots and aircrew who need cockpit-ready eyewear.
- Military members and veterans who live a mission-first lifestyle.
- Law enforcement and tactical professionals.
- Hunters, fishermen, and outdoorsmen.
- Shooters, photographers, and anyone who’s hard on their gear.
If you want sunglasses that perform as well as they look, these are for you.
A Little About Us
I’m a Marine Corps MV-22 Osprey pilot. I’ve flown in too many aircraft to count, trained with aircrew, and lived through the frustrations of gear that doesn’t hold up. That experience shaped my vision for Flight Series Eyewear.
I don’t share my background to make this about me — this brand is about the people who wear it. But I do think it matters that these sunglasses come from someone who’s been there. Someone who knows what it’s like to pull gear out of a pocket, or a flight suit, and need it to work every time.
Flight Series exists because I got tired of seeing name brand sunglasses not hold up to their price tag. I knew there was a better way, and I decided to build it.
My wife is a P8 Poseidon pilot, now flight instructor along with me. She saw firsthand that polarized lenses were not effective in her aircraft, so she never wore them. Together, we want to change eyewear for aviators and other everyday professionals.
Looking Ahead
Right now, our focus is on doing one thing well: making sunglasses that live up to the mission. In the future, we plan to expand into more styles — some fully mission-ready, others tailored for everyday wear.
No matter what, the foundation won’t change. Every pair of Flight Series sunglasses will be built for durability, clarity, and reliability first.
The Bottom Line
Flight Series Eyewear was built from frustration and shaped by experience. It started with a need for better gear and became a mission to create something stronger.
