How Do These Lenses Work?
American National Standard: ANSI Z80.3-2018/R2023
This is the main U.S. standard for non-prescription sunglasses and fashion eyewear.
- Traffic Signal Values (red, yellow, green): All well above minimum requirements
What this means for you: Colors stay accurate and vivid — no tinting that makes red lights look orange or green signs look dull. - Color Accuracy (CIE Chromaticity under D65 daylight): Very close to neutral point (x=0.324, y=0.317)
What this means for you: We designed these lenses to keep things natural — no heavy brown, blue, or gray cast. The world just looks like the real world through them.
ISO 12312-1:2022
This is the main standard sunglasses have to meet across Europe and in many countries around the world.
- Filter Category: 3Visible Light Transmittance (Tv): 10.0%What this means for you: We chose Category 3 because it’s the sweet spot for bright sunshine — think beach days, road trips, hiking, or flying. These lenses cut harsh glare way down while still letting you see every detail clearly. Not too dark like extreme ski goggles, not too light like casual fashion shades.
- UV Protection — UVB (280–315 nm): 0.12% | UVA (315–380 nm): 0.19%
What this means for you: We made sure these lenses deliver full UV400 protection — blocking virtually 100% of the sun’s harmful ultraviolet rays. That helps protect your eyes from painful sunburn on the surface of the eye, cataracts, and long-term issues like macular degeneration. - Signal Light Recognition (red, yellow, green, blue): All scores PASS comfortably
What this means for you: Traffic lights, brake lights, road signs, and warning signals look completely natural — no weird color shifts. These are 100% safe for daytime driving. - Driving Suitability: Approved for normal road use and daylight driving; not suitable for twilight or night driving (too dark for low light).
What this means for you: They’re fantastic for sunny drives — just pop on lighter or clear lenses after the sun goes down.
Result: Fully compliant — PASS.
AS/NZS 1067.1:2016-A1:2021
This is the required standard for sunglasses sold in Australia and New Zealand, where the sun and UV are especially intense.
- Same Category 3 rating and UV results as the European standard (10.9% Tv, UV400 confirmed).
What this means for you: You get the same high level of protection that meets the tough rules for places like Australian beaches, the outback, or New Zealand mountains. - Maximum UV Transmittance (280–400 nm): 0.38%What this means for you: Extremely low UV leakage — this is some of the best protection you can get against that harsh southern-hemisphere sun.
Result: Fully compliant — PASS.
